This time when I was making Rice Krispies Treats I didn’t have Oreos so I thought I would just make a simple batch. They turned out delicious and this will be the way I make Rice Krispies Treats from now on. The browning of the butter takes a bit more time but it is still a quick treat to make!
Grease a 9×13 baking dish and set aside. I lined my non stick cake pan with foil and then sprayed with some oil.
In a large pot on medium-low heat, melt butter. We want to brown the butter. First it will melt, next foam. The butter will become a clear golden and then brown. Stir frequently and keep a close eye on it so it doesn’t burn. Once you see the brown bits, reduce heat to low and add the marshmallow fluff. Mix well. Next remove from heat, add the Rice Krispies and mix well. Transfer to the prepared baking pan and spread. Press down firmly with a spatula.
Put in the fridge for 20-30 minutes. This will make it easier to cut.
Will try this looks wonderful 🙂

I love using browned butter in my rice krispie treats too! Sure, it takes a few more minutes of prep work, but you're so right that it takes them over the top!
I haven't ever had good luck with marshmallow creme. Do these hold together well? Maybe I should try with creme instead of regular marshmallows

How many cups of Rice Krispies do you use? In the beginning I was using 6 cups and I had the same problem. When I reduced them to 5 it was much better and you need to make sure you press it down firmly as well.
